Proving ownership of a property, the official way

To officially prove ownership of a property, you will require Official Copies of the register and title plan; these are what people commonly refer to as title deeds because they are the irrefutable proof of ownership of a property. Note, this only applies to registered property.

To obtain these from the Land Registry, a member of the public needs to visit the Land Registry official website (via the GOV.UK site) and download a paper application called an OC1 and send it to the Land Registry with a cheque. The cost is £7 for the title register and £7 for the title plan. The Land Registry will post the documents back within 7 working days.

We are not the Land Registry, we are an independent UK company that provides Land Registry documents to the public.

Our service is electronic; we charge £19.95 for both the title register and title plan when purchased together or £13 individually for the title register only, or title plan only. We can send these documents in under 60 minutes of ordering via our website, and documents are sent by email. We provide the same Official Copies you would receive from the Land Registry, however using our commercial account with the Land Registry, we can get them instantly and therefore send them on to our customers instantly, doing away with the hassle of filling in forms and posting cheques.
